There’s no team like the C&A team both at work and away from the office. Employees, friends, and family members turned out in big numbers for the 2014 MS Walk held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Stinson Park in Omaha.
As a company, we’re supportive of many charitable programs and events and we’re active in making our community a better place. But this time, we walked in support of a colleague and the participation was impressive and inspiring.
Let’s put it in perspective. In 2013, the MS Walk drew approximately 1,250 walkers. This year, the 1 and 3 mile event drew 535 participants from C&A alone (we have just over 450 corporate employees in Omaha). We were there sporting bright blue “Tom’s Troops” t-shirts and all proud to walk alongside our very own Tom Hansen, our former CFO, who suffers from multiple sclerosis.
It was all smiles on the sunny, crisp spring morning. Employees brought spouses, kids, dogs, and cups of java. Most of all, we brought our positive spirit and company pride to show our support for someone we all respect and admire.
Companies talk often about what great things are happening within their organizations, their business successes, and goals reached. We do, too. But an event such as this, which brings a mass of people together for a reason that’s personal – that’s when you know you’re part of something extraordinary.
