I came into this internship with one expectation – that afterwards I would have real-world “big girl” job experience to add to my resume. But as my time at C&A Industries is coming to an end, I am leaving with so much more than an addition to my work history.
Self discovery. Friendships. Professional connections. Personal development. Mentors. What more could you want out of a summer internship?
My time at C&A Industries has been one for the books. The Intern Skills for Success experience has truly opened my eyes to who I am, what motivates me, and who I want to be.
I came through the door on the first day unsure of what I would be doing for the next 10 weeks. Admittedly, I was nervous, but ready to conquer whatever challenge was thrown my way! I am blessed to say that I ended up being one of the first two interns to learn the recruiting process and join the recruiting branch of Aureus Medical’s nursing division.
The internship really enabled me to learn more about myself, both professionally and personally. A huge part of this was through analyzing and learning how to maximize upon my individual strengths. I also learned a lot about what makes me “tick” and why I do things certain ways through the DiSC personality assessment offered through the program.
I feel as though I have made a new family with the connections I have made in my short time here. My fellow interns, several coworkers in my division, and the new hire training class that I started with all have welcomed me with open arms and made an effort to truly get to know me, and I am so sad to be leaving them all when I leave town and go back to school at summer’s end.
I want to say THANK YOU to all those who have impacted me during my time at C&A Industries. You made me feel a whole lot more special than simply just an “intern.”
