C&A Recognized for Wellness as a Gold Well Workplace

C&A employees attend our annual Health Fair, held onsite each Spring. The event brings together vendors offering a variety of health and wellness related products and services.

It may not be an Olympic year but we’ve brought home the Gold. We’re proud to share that C&A Industries, Inc. has been recognized with the Gold Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). This is the fourth time C&A has been certified as a Gold Well Workplace by WELCOA and as one of the healthiest companies in the country in 2018. Companies are able to be recognized every three years.

Over the years as we’ve developed and elevated our health and wellness program, we’ve been recognized along the way. Companies at the Gold Well Workplace level offer comprehensive wellness programs that produce results and meet a rigid set of criteria, WELCOA’s Seven Benchmarks of Success. The benchmarks address the entirety of the company’s wellness efforts, from leadership, collaboration, and planning to quality of initiatives and effectiveness.

In a Well Workplace Award-winning organization, the vision of protecting and enhancing the health and well-being of each and every employee becomes part of the organization’s fabric and culture. We’re proud that health and wellness is part of who we are at C&A and part of what makes ours a great workplace.

WHAT’S C&A’S WELLNESS PROGRAM ALL ABOUT?

At C&A we maintain a comprehensive wellness program, AurHealth. The mission of AurHealth is to promote organizational and employee wellness through education; prevention; early detection; and access to comprehensive health resources in the following areas: physical; emotional; social; spiritual; occupational; and intellectual. Its vision, to empower employees to live happier, healthier lifestyles, is realized through year-round programming that keeps wellness top of mind and makes a positive impact on an ongoing and consistent basis.

Exhausted but exhilarated, C&A employees competed in the Trek Up the Tower event, a giant stair climb to the top of First National Tower in Omaha.

Our wellness program is driven by employees across the C&A organization who represent our various divisions and departments company wide. Our executive management team oversees and supports our efforts. Obviously, a successful wellness program requires an investment and our managers and C-suite execs are definitely behind what we work to achieve – a healthier C&A team.

C&A’s wellness committee is active year-round. The group organizes a variety of events and activities to help employees prioritize health and wellness. Pictured are members of the 2018 committee.

Throughout the year, we’re “wellness busy”. Our wellness committee organizes an annual Health Fair, walking clubs and scavenger hunts, blood drives, and brings in a Farmer’s Market during the summertime. Our Weigh-to-Goal program has been a great hit within our workplace. Through accountability of weekly weigh-ins, employees have received support and encouragement to work toward weight loss goals. This year the area’s mobile mammogram unit came to C&A and filled its appointments to capacity. A number of employees received their first mammograms through the mobile unit.

There’s much more to share, but suffice to say, as a company we put time and energy toward maintaining and bettering employee health.
