    C&A Industries, a national leader in staffing and recruitment, has been recognized as one of the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in North America. The annual award, issued by Achievers, an industry leading provider of employee recognition and engagement solutions, commends top employers that display leadership and innovation in engaging their workforces.

    C&A will be honored alongside the other recipients of the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ Award at an awards gala. The gala will be held on September 11th, 2017 at the historic Saenger Theatre in New Orleans as part of the Achievers Annual Customer Experience Conference (ACE).

    Aureus Group, a leading staffing and recruitment firm headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska has been named by Forbes to its list of the 2017 America's Best Professional Recruiting Firms. Aureus Group specializes in staffing within the areas of accounting and finance, information technology and information systems, and healthcare leadership, along with executive level search. With a national reach, the company is rooted in the Midwest with regional offices in Kansas City, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa.

    Forbes partnered with analytics firm Statista to compile the list which ranks recruitment agencies that place candidates in roles with less than $100,000 in annual income. Aureus Group is ranked #105 in the group of 250 firms.

    Selection was based on industry research and survey results involving recruiters, employees who have worked with recruiters, and HR managers. Survey participants were asked to recommend up to ten recruiting firms (excluding their own). Rankings were established based on the number of recommendations received. An estimated total of 20,000 recommendations were submitted as part of the survey process. Firms with most recommendations ranked the highest.

    It takes a number of firms and different types of professionals to make a harmonious and productive office, from products suppliers and service providers to consultants on the people/talent side. “We have seen trends with more modern and open work environments where there are casual spaces for teammates to collaborate and brainstorm, open concept breakrooms with full kitchens, catered lunches and sometimes even happy hours or game rooms with pool tables, air hockey, and video games,” said Chris Walker, regional manager of C&A Industries’ affiliate Aureus Group, when asked about the office environment as a “recruitment tool:” Generally, Walker said, employers are becoming more employee-centric listening to employees’ wants and needs. “Many employer are conducting work place engagement surveys or ‘stay interviews’ when employees are given the opportunity to communicate ideas or suggestions that would increase their happiness at work,” Walker said. “Many employees are also looking for communication from their leaders about their path within the organization, and if there is no room for growth in terms of your typical promotion, what other opportunities are there for the employee to gain additional skills?” Walker suggests organizations provide timely communication and responses to employee’ thoughts, ideas and questions - to improve one’s brand. “We often hear from candidates that one of the reasons they are exploring other opportunities is because they don’t feel like they are being listened to,” she said. “In today’s world, most employers are only responding to the candidates who are a fit for the position they are hiring for today,” she said.

    The current labor crunch has put the squeeze on many Midlands companies, dampening growth opportunities. Employing a staffing service can help ease this pinch, provided you find the right match for your company. “A recommendation that I like to give is to make sure (a staffing firm) is a service that has experience placing people in the type of role you are seeking,” said Eric Beck, sales manager with Celebrity Staff, an affiliate of C&A Industries. “This market is flooded with staffing companies that claim they are specialists in every industry and every position. Would you go to the same doctor for the flu as you would for brain surgery? No, so make sure you are working with a partner that specializes in what you are looking for.” Beck said good areas to discuss include: the number of people the firm has placed in roles similar to yours over the past three to six months, how long the company has been in in business in the local market and to get details about the firm’s overall structure. “The team concept is beneficial; would you rather have a team working on your positions or one person?” he said. “Some of the other specific things I would dig into is their process, from finding candidates to screening candidates to what you can expect from them throughout the process. “All these things should be answered very easily without hesitation. If there is a hesitation I would consider that a red flag and seek out a different potential partnership.”

    C&A Industries, Inc., a national leader in staffing and recruitment, has been named among the Best Places to Work in Omaha for the seventh time in nine years. The parent company to staffing firms Aureus Group, Aureus Medical Group, AurStaff, and Celebrity Staff has been recognized in the large company category of organizations with more than 200 employees.

    The annual initiative, sponsored by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and Baird Holm, recognizes a select number of companies annually based on the results of surveys taken by the employees of participating organizations. Surveys measure employee engagement, satisfaction, morale, opportunities for professional growth, and workplace culture.

    Scot Thompson, president and CEO of C&A Industries, Inc., a national leader in human capital management, has been named by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) to the Staffing 100, a list of the most influential executives within the North American Staffing market. This is the second consecutive year Thompson has been recognized among the nation’s leaders in the staffing industry, which SIA predicts will reach $145 billion in 2017.

Chris Carlson-Dennell, managing director or Aureus Group , an affiliate of C&A Industries, said succession planning is a collective approach to aligning business initiatives with talent. “A defined, agreed-upon talent strategy is the road map needed to provide transparent communication,” she said. “HR can assist the organization’s leadership in defining the succession plan, but it needs to be lived by the leadership.” “It’s a good thing to bring in talent and experiences into an organically grown organization,” Carlson-Dennell said. “We all learn from each other. It doesn’t matter if you’re part of a small or large organization. Being a part of something greater than ourselves and feeling like we impact lives and organizations positively results in happy employees, happy customers, higher retention, and an increased bottom line.”
